Apr. 28 – Bad Taste Party @ The Elephant

I almost bought a tie-dyed babydoll that I’d never wear again for this party, but Cora convinced me it’d be more fun to make up our own terrible outfits. The thing about a “bad taste party” is that there’s a line which differentiates between those who have intentionally bad outfits and those with unintentionally bad outfits. Then, there’s a grey area between them. The key to these parties is to make sure that you surpass the line and the grey area so that people know that it’s intentional. So, if you’re gonna dress badly, dress really badly. Hah, it was fun getting ready for this one! I wore navy sports shorts over jeans, a pink tube top with a blue tube top over half of the pink one, a purple double-wrap belt over that, and a bright green bag. I’m waiting on a pic from Laura, because I didn’t have my camera that night.

Most of the crowd was pretty creative. The worst-dressed guy was in a playboy bunny outfit. There were lots of guys dressed as girls. I saw a guy in a pink t-shirt that had what looked like a logo of Hello Kitty, but the face was made to look like boobs and it said “Hello Titties”! Haha, I thought it was funny. I wish I’d had my camera! Alex took a white t-shirt and shredded the sleeves and the bottom. Then he put an arrow to his face and wrote “THE MAN (DER MANN).” There was another arrow to his crotch that said “THE LEGEND (DIE LEGENDE).” And, of course, on the back, “If you want to sleep with a Canadian, call …” I bet he wouldn’t even mind if I put his number up here hahah.

I met this guy Nadim through Jordan. Jordan and Alex were just walking in the street in St. Gallen when they met this guy, who had graduated from Western a few years ago and is now working in St. Gallen! He was really nice and offered to take us out, since he gets to drive his boss’ car.

Also, I have laryngitis. I’ve never met anyone who gets laryngitis as often as I do. I get it 2x per year – usually during late fall and winter. At least it’s usually not painful and goes away on it’s own after a few days.
